On the pages where you display the details of your clothing, you have a number of symbols - what do these mean?
Under the close up images on each product page, you will see the option 'Symbol Key' which will give you a detailed breakdown however to summerise:
the leaf: means the product is Oragnic
the hand: means the product is Fairtrade
the rabbit: means the product is Ethically Produced
the exclamation mark: means there is limited stock
CE: means it has European Approval
the star: is how babynation rate the product themselves
Do you know were we can get really small premature baby clothes from? ~Frustrated~
You are already in the right place ‘frustrated’. Babynation carries a preemie range of baby clothes from 1lb up and is actually the primary reason that babynation came to be. Our son was also premature and we struggled finding clothing for him. You might also be interested to know that 1% of all out profit from the sale of our premature range is being donated to the NeoNatal Ward at Cork Maternity Hospital. Auntie M
I noticed an item of clothing on your site 2 weeks ago which isn’t there any more. Does this mean its no longer available? Discontinued?
Hi Emma – the babynation website reflects ONLY the stock we currently hold on site. As parents who did most of our shopping online for our premature son, we were incredibly disheartened by the fact that so often we were purchasing something that we thought we’d have in a couple of days but in fact had to wait months for! So we have a policy that if it’s not in stock, it’s not on the site. HOWEVER, if you are not in a position to purchase something there and then or if you notice that an item of clothing or a gift is unavailable in the size you require, you can send us an email to notify you when the item is back in stock. This option appears on the bottom left of the item reading ‘Notify when in stock’ – just click on it and fill in the 3 lines and the site will do the rest. Auntie M
I have never shopped online before. Is it secure? LF
Absolutely! Babynation.ie has gone to great lengths to ensure that all your personal details are secure and we do not hold your card details as added security.
We request that you 'register' with the site which again creates another level of security on the site. For most of us time is a luxury and never mind the economical and environmental benefits of online shopping, it’s proven a huge timesaver! Especially with babies and young children to think about.
However if you still have qualms about using the online store option, you could always call us direct. Auntie M
I've only heard of 'Organic Food' - what are the benefits of Organic clothing? ~Sue~"
Hi Sue, that's a valid question and one that I'm sure most people want to ask.
The main difference between organic and non-organic fabric is that the methods and materials used to grow Organic cotton have a low impact on the environment. Many of the chemicals used in regular farming are carcinogens that damage the nervous system. While a minute amount of the chemicals reach actual targeted pest, the remainder get absorbed into our air, water and soil.
But even if you are not ‘environmentally’ proactive, organic clothing has many selling points! Some of these are:
• less likely to provoke allergies within babies and children who would normally react to the chemicals used in pesticides. That means that organic cotton baby clothes are really kind to eczema.”
• it feels softer and thicker, because the cotton fibres are left intact and are not broken down by chemicals
• it smells different…..cleaner as it is left in it’s raw state
• it is thicker and more durable.
